"Lake San Marcos - Quiet community"

The town surrounds a man made lake. There is a local paper with different social clubs like Uke players, Bridge, Golf, Fisher. I think they try to get a feel of a smaller town. Around Lake San Marcos is the city of San Marcos, which has the stores, movie theater and near by freeway access.
